Candidates gathered on State House plaza in Concord Sunday afternoon to make their pitches to pro-life voters. Here’s a selection of the speakers. Thumbs up to Women for Bob Smith, who organized the event and managed to bring together a wide variety of candidates.

Sue DeLemus, former state representative running to represent Rochester once again: “I have a very personal connection with the right to life, because I had an abortion. I fight like mad every single bill that’s against life that comes through this House. There is no one in this House who can testify the way I can.”
Dear Ellen, Nice photos! Nice reporting! Here are the names of a few more candidates who were at the rally for life (and in the group picture )– In addition to those whom you named — . Don Lebrun, Sen. Sam Cataldo, Jerry DeLemus (Susan’s husband); Bill Goulette, James Headd, Jerry Sickels, Neil Ward? Also it is worth noting that Jane Cormier sent her daughter to represent her (and to sing!) and Jim Lawrence sent a rep to speak. & Dan Itse sent regrets.
I think we should ask those candidates who did not show up – most notably those who previously ran as pro-life but are quiet about the issue this time — why not?
Thanks for filling us in on the other candidates who were there, Freda! I share your curiosity about the candidates who WEREN’T there. Thanks for reading.
